Projects

- Involved in a research project with the Central Water Commission, Ministry of Water Resources, Government of India, where I am working on identifying various microbial species present in different reaches of river water and trying to co-relate the existence of these species with the trace metals present in that reach.
- As a part of my final year project I am studying the water treatment and quality assurance of the treatment systems adopted in Jamshedpur, INDIA.
- Authored the paper titled “Wastewater recycling and reuse in tropical conditions” which has been selected for presentation at The 6th EWC International Student Conference being organized by the East-West Center in Hawaii in February 2007.
- Authored the paper“Restoration of river Yamuna by means of constructed wetlands in New Delhi, India” which was presented at American Society for Civil Engineers (ASCE) conference held in New Delhi in December, 2006.
- Finished my mandatory eight weeks summer training between the months of May and July 2006 at The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI), New Delhi, where I worked on a research titled ‘Decolourization of distillery wastewater using unburnt carbon deposited on bio-mass ash filters’.
- Performed a research project at I.I.T Delhi, under the guidance of Dr A.K Mittal, and wrote a research paper under him. The title of this paper is “Treatment of Urban Run off Using Constructed Wetlands in New Delhi, India”. The paper has been published in the proceedings of American Society for Civil Engineers (ASCE) conference which was held in Nebraska in May 2006.
- Finished my 6th semester group project on “A study on the planning and practices of construction and planning of green buildings” with the highest credits.
- Presented a paper on “Wastewater recycling and reuse on a university campus in India” at I.I.T Delhi, in January 2006.
- Interned with the Center for Science and Environment, New Delhi for six weeks between the months of December 2005 and January 2006. Worked on a project involving a design of a Decentralized Wastewater Treatment (DEWATS) for a school. The system so designed has been adopted and is now under construction.
